Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Romans 15:7
Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
Today's reading: SONG OF SOLOMON 1-3 GALATIANS 2
You People
John 4:48 “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”
People are really offended these days when this is directed at them-"You people". Why?
People do not want to be categorized so they can be judged by their company or their clan or their color?
Jesus was the one who said this and it is directly translated from the old text, 'you people'. This man was a local leader and his color or race or class did not matter to Jesus. What mattered then and always will matter is that all have sinned. 'You people' are a people of sin-all of us.
So we can all be offended by Christ or we can accept His truth.
Matthew 13:57 ►And they took offense at him.
This has been a typical response for the last 2000 years. Like being typical, do ya'? Try something different. Try stepping out on faith-step out of self where ego is bruised and become something other than 'you people'.
Jesus died so we could come out and be different.
2 Corinthians 6:17 ►Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate", says the Lord.
We have been commanded to come out and be separate. Do you still want to see signs and wonders or do you want to get into God's heart-that is where He wants you-us-no bigger miracle exists than for us to have access to the very heart of God.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive my selfish feelings. I want to be where you want me. Grow me to where I am never offended by anything You say and certainly never offended by the world's words.
You are greater than all the words of the universe-mighty and wonderful God of grace!
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
