Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day:  Zechariah 14:9 “And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.”

Today’s Reading:  Job 17-19 Acts 10:1-23

Do Not Worry

Jesus uses more than a few words to tell us not to worry. But He does use words. By this I mean that Jesus wants us to know that He knows that if we really listen and take apart piece by piece what He has to say about trusting Him and not worrying Him that we will understand how serious this is with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

I ask that you pray over these verses as we study them for the next few days and see that God wants us to understand more and more of His ‘kingship’ over our lives. The more of this we understand and allow the Holy Spirit to apply in our lives, the less we will worry.

...because He loves us...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

I ask you to help me hallow Your name as Your desire. Help me to know how to seek Your kingdom in the deepest way. Let me see how great is Your provision so I will not worry. Forgive me for my weak trust in You. Lead me away from shallow efforts.

God of all provision,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
