Times Of Strength

‎Monday, ‎March ‎15, ‎2021

Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Acts 4:10,12

let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

Memory of the month:  And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" —Luke 24:32

Today's reading: DEUTERONOMY 25-27 MARK 14:27-53

Times of Strength

My wife went to the grocery store, March 15, 2020, and found no milk, eggs, or butter. I went to the box store down the hill and it was a madhouse. The government was shutting down mass meetings and the masses were going to the Wal-mart.

We are simply going to cross paths, so what do we do? Saying, "Don't panic" to a generation filled with fear yields an opposite response.

Stop-slap yourself a couple of times if that's what it takes but look in the mirror and repeat, "My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills."

Where is the peace of God that defies human explanation-the peace of Christ in your heart? Where is the power of the Holy Spirit that changes the winds? God is still with His people and the lost and frightened masses need to see some calm people who get that calm from Jesus.

I will borrow a list from a writer. Things that we can do right now to help alleviate fear and move ahead in peace during a time of fear and dread.

Turn off the news-the numbers will not keep you healthy or strong.

Pray with others-don't just say, "I'll pray for you"-stop, grab a hand and pray. 2 Chronicles 7:14-“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray...Pray don't just give lip service, do what you say you will do-and do business with God.

Ask God...and wait

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Rest

Some will say this is ridiculous; this is a time for action. Yes, it is time for action. But don't run into a fire naked. Rest in God's peace as you go anywhere and do anything. Ask God to cover and fill you with His peace and wisdom and then know it is happening, and do what He places before you with strength and peace. Move in God's peace and rest your worried mind as you move. Take the negative junk captive and see the victory. Do not focus on defeating failure-focus on God's power to succeed.

People need a good word from calm hearts. They need a word from Godly, peaceful people. Jesus wants us to grow forward in His love and peace.

After a year of all this mess, are you any better at getting in front of God with your anxieties? Are you any deeper in your love for God? Can you stop the whirl in your mind and be still before God any better than a year ago? Have you grown?

Do not waste another day. Too many have gone by with no growth in the Lord. Seek God and learn things He has for you to learn. Before we all know it, it will be another year from now. We must not waste the time and opportunities God so perfectly and lovingly provides.

Seek Him and learn things.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I confess my fears because I have paid too much attention to the chaos. Teach me to concentrate on You and Your power and peace.

Great God of peace and wisdom and power.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
