Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your limitless love in Christ and endless power. Build my trust and my passion. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

Verse of the day: Romans 10:9-10

9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

As Close As We Can

As we contemplate our Savior in His tomb-between the dark cross and the bright morning of resurrection-I want us to think about Mary losing her child. Jesus gave Mary to John as his mother to care for from then on-while He was dying.

They stayed-for the entire ordeal until life left His body. They stayed as close to Jesus as they could. It is easy to know that they stayed as close to Jesus as they could for the rest of their days.

An example for us. Though we were not at the cross, we were at the cross. On Easter and always, we must learn to say with the Apostle Paul,

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. “Galatians 2:20

This we must say and stay as close as we can-for the rest of our days.

...because He loves us...He will do it if we seek Him…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is more precious than all earth’s treasure. Make my desire to always obey Your will. Forgive me for the lazy eye of my soul. Lead me away from unbelief.

Ever present God and greatest friend,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
