The New Has Come

Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Matthew 6:33
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )
"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"
Today's reading: Isaiah 5-6 Ephesians 1
The New Has Come
Paul writes : "...that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.."Philippians 3:10
Jesus is our one great example to follow. It is not outside of righteousness, I believe, to want what Paul stated was his desire.
Can you feel good about praying, "Father, I want to know Your power in the resurrection of Christ Jesus that I may share in His suffering"?
It will take the power of the resurrection to endure the sufferings of Christ, and, if we fully come to know the power of the resurrection, the sufferings will come due to the reaction of the world around us.
So, a warning: Be careful what you pray for.
Taking that into account, I want to know the power of the resurrection. Not just for the thrill of it all, which I assume is far above amazing, but because it means becoming more and more like Jesus(Romans 8:29)
I believe we:
> have already experienced the power of the resurrection in our salvation experience to walk in His new Life. Romans 6:4
"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."
> Have been raised with Him by the power of the resurrection. Colossians 2:12
"Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead."
> experience the power of the resurrection every time we seek God. The ongoing work of God in our lives that sharpens us and draws us to Him-sanctification-takes the power of the resurrection. Again, Romans 8:29-more like Jesus
> through the power of the resurrection, have been placed in the middle of His Living Hope. 1 Peter 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..."
> Must focus on the new-everything is new-everyday-new again. God never looks back-He has no reason to-He never remembers our old junk-He wants us to walk as Jesus in Living Hope and realize the power of the resurrection to conquer the next breath to the next heartbeat to the next step-
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
God never pulls us out of His power-we pull ourselves out by falling to sin.
Regain the power-put Jesus on-put on the whole armor-
We have the source of the power of the resurrection living in our souls-learn it-live it-live to the glory of God.
Put in the work.
...because he loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Glory to Your highest name. Heaven's light in my soul. Forgive my filth and let me grasp the reality of Your power of the resurrection and let me tremble in Your presence.
Magnificent God of power and peace,
Amen
