The Hard Work

Sunday, April 14, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:    2 Samuel 7:22-“How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!”

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: 1 SAMUEL 27-29 LUKE 13:1-22

 The Hard Work

Paul tells the Thessalonian Christians that he sent Timothy to them to strengthen and encourage them in the faith so that none would be unsettled by the persecution and trials that were certain to happen and did happen.

In Colossians 3:23- "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters".

In whatever we do the work always starts in our hearts and is finished in our hearts. The fact that attitude is central to all victory will never change. Attitudes can change and God is the only one who can change our attitudes for the kingdom--if that is really what we want.

We must then have a goal of 'having a Godly kingdom' attitude or paradigm. An earthly living paradigm is hard to filter out but with much steady prayer, meditation, scripture reading and memory work this paradigm can and will be changed.

In the process of this change, trials will most certainly come. The enemy will not sit idly by while he loses ground in even one heart. So what happens if we become 'unsettled', as Paul calls it in 1  Thessalonians 3:3 by these trials? We turn and face God immediately, confess it, and again walk in Him clean and, I believe the scripture teaches, stronger.

Isaiah 45:24-They will say of me, ‘In the LORD alone are deliverance and strength.’

The hardest work we will always do is in our hearts because this dictates our state of mind-our free will--Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

The Holy Spirit will never take a day off...He stands ready knowing what you need.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for not staying close. I get my mind on me and not You. Lead me to grow. I want to want...You more and more.

Great, great God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
