Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day: Psalm 90:4

4 “For a thousand years in your sight    are but as yesterday when it is past,    or as a watch in the night.”

Today’s Reading: 2 Chronicles 28-29 John 17

Do My Work

Jesus said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”(Mark 1:17).

The disciples of Jesus could actually follow, physically, Jesus as He performed His ministry. That is something we cannot do, obviously.

The fishermen understand what Jesus meant. But what about the rest of us who do not fish? What about a farmer? A farmer prepares the ground, plants, cares for, and harvests. So Jesus will make us farmers of men. Investment bankers? They must be investors of men investing their lives to deliver the love of Christ to the lost and so on. It is not hard to understand. We are to follow Jesus in the way he poured His love into the lost.

But—by what is happening today, it seems it is really hard to ‘follow’ Jesus for the majority of those who call themselves ‘Christian’.

How can I say that? Luke 11:23: “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

We either gather or we scatter. Jesus does not leave room for any middle ground. We either follow or we choose to stay ‘safe’ so no one can call us ‘radical’ or ‘fanatical’.

What does following Jesus really mean? It means that our love for Christ is greater for Him than anyone or anything on this earth-especially self(Luke 14:33; Matthew 19:29;Luke 9:23).

I will repeat myself: If I don’t love my Lord more than my wife, I cannot love my wife as I should. Self, alone, is sin. All possessions perish.

Jesus gives real meaning to everything-especially self and relationships.

Following Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life.

Pray to God that you-me-we all invest our lives in His truth.

...because He loves us...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is life itself. Your kingdom is my home. Build my desire to do Your will. I want to grasp and live in Your will today. Forgive me for ignoring Your truth. Deliver me from evil.

Magnificent Lord and master,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
