Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 5:19-20-“singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Join Together

God says:18“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. (Isaiah 1)

Isaiah 1:19 ►"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;"

When coaching basketball, I would tell players to learn how to not let your opponent 'get in your head'. "It's a mind game. If he gets in your head, he has you beaten already."

The enemy puts much energy into 'sequestering' us from God's heart in our heads. If we let our opponent 'in our heads', we are beaten already.

If we accept God's invitation to 'reason' with Him-if we learn to talk to God as with our best friend-and we have no better-we will 'eat the good of the land'.

Keeping the opponent out of our heads always begins with a choice to take action. The action is to 'die to self'(Take up our cross-Luke 9:23) and then 'reason with God'. That word reason actually means to 'settle the matter' or argue. I really don't want to argue with God but what it means is to bring all our sins and set them before God and then see what really needs to be settled. This time spent with God keeps the opponent out of our heads.

God wants us to be comfortable enough with Him to say anything that needs saying-and if we think we need to argue with Him, then God says, "Let's settle it".

The opponent wants us to argue with anyone but God-many empty words and worldly concerns. This sequesters us from the heart of God.

Proverbs 10:19 When words are many, sin is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

To eat the good of the land-the key here is the word 'good' and it means beauty, goodness, joy, fairness-a spiritual prosperity that can only be known if we reason with God-when we cultivate God consciousness while we live in the world of the enemy.(Ephesians 2)

Join together with God and keep the enemy out of your head.

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for letting the enemy separate us. Grow my desire to settle things with You,

Holy and righteous God,
