Light

Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 119:30

I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me.

Memory of the month:  Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be  satisfied.

Today's reading: PSALM 29-30 ACTS 23:1-15

Light

One of the God's of the ancient Egyptians was the sun god Ra who was credited with creating the earth and defeating a serpent god while in the form of a cat.(???) Well, they were amazed at the sun.

King David wrote these words:

Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life;

in your light do we see light.

David knew that there was nothing but 'light'(by which we physically see) in the sun. He says we 'see' 'light' in God's 'light'.

In John 9, we read the words of Jesus:“For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.” verse39

41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

God's real light is to our souls. It brings us salvation; it brings us humility to admit our sin before Him.

We can see God's heart for us.

Matthew 5:8 ►Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Proverbs 23:26-My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways,

1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

The point is:

Matthew 4:16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

The Lord is our only spiritual truth-because of Him, we know the truth and are forever blessed by Him.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

He does this for us always-every move of our lives...

With His light, we must move and live and have our being...(Acts 17:28)

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

The victory...

John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Lead me away from the darkness. Lead me to walk every second in Your light. Forgive me my weakness for the darkness.

Mighty God of love and light,

In Christ Jesus,

Amen
