Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Luke 1:46-47

Today’s reading: Amos 4-6 Revelation 7

Homecoming

We fed 107 folks at Thanksgiving just past. 2026 will mark 80 years since my wife’s family began this tradition that has become a ‘Reunion Thanksgiving’. We can never come together without thinking of all those who have ‘gone home’ and left us with their love.

It seems harder around any holiday, especially the first of any after we have lost someone and so we must remember those around us who are going through these emotions this Holiday. It hurts and even if we have been through similar times, we cannot feel how someone else feels. Only God feels our real pain. But, God has given us a way to carry each other’s burdens. If He had not, why does

Paul wrote this in Galatians, the sixth chapter? 2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

This season we think about gifts under a tree. How about a gift of helping someone carry a load? How about a gift of making a list of those you know who are having a really tough time with a loss and lifting them up in prayer?

Help carry someone’s load this season in the name of Christ Jesus.

And if you are one who carries pain from a loss or situation, remember:

God sent an Angel to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, Luke 22:43 “strengthening Him” which means Jesus welcomed the help. Welcome the help with an open heart.

In the strength of our Lord is how we make it through these times-the strength of His body-the body of believers.

Sit down with God and open your heart up to Him and rest in His peace, love, and strength.

...because He loves us, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come in my heart as it is in Heaven. Give me today Your strength to have victory. Forgive me my ‘Eyes for the world’. Lead me from evil.

Patient and kind Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
