Is It Crazy?
(This is a copy and paste from March 2020)
We are a church of 50 or so each week so we were 'legal' to have church yesterday. The day before, milk and eggs could not be bought at the store. The 'run' on the stores had taken its toll. So I asked the lady who brings eggs to sell after church if she had eggs and she did, so, I asked from the pulpit if anyone really needed eggs-no one needed eggs...
That means that all of them got to the store before my wife did the previous day, I guess.
The masses went to the store-the masses that are so afraid of scattering this bad virus to the masses went to all the stores in masses-all the stores??
I guess we are all crazy at times. Some who did not go to the store may call the rest crazy people. But we must not let our disdain for this behavior overshadow God’s word that tells us not to judge or consider ourselves above anyone.
Jesus died for each of those we call ‘crazy people’ and God loves each of them as much as He loves each of us.
Go tell God they are crazy and see what HE says...
I did once....and he said, “love your neighbor the way you love yourself”.
If they are 'crazy', we are guilty of judgement.
If you are afraid, and the world is shuddering in fear right now, return to the foot of the cross. Pray. Get into God's presence. Why? Perfect love casts out fear. Fear cannot stay in the presence of God. Let go of it all and ask God to cover you and your family and friends and neighbors. While you are there, ask God what you, yourself, are to learn from Him in all this, because, God has a purpose for you in this world right now-for today.
Dietrich Bobhoeffer wrote this when Hitler was attacking the world:
"Only those who put tomorrow completely into God’s hand and receive fully today what they need for their lives are really secure. Receiving daily liberates me from tomorrow."
Give us this day our daily bread...remember?
Get into God's presence right now and pray that we all receive...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven;
Forgive me my fear and worry. Show me how to humbly walk in your fearless love and let others see Jesus in me.
Matchless and great God!
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
