Common Sense

Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:43-45
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Today's reading: LEVITICUS 6-7 MATTHEW 25:1-30
God's Common Sense On Hate
We have spoken about 'God's Common Sense' before and it still sounds odd.
So, no one ever runs into God's office and throws a newspaper down and surprises God with a headline. He was there. He knew it before it happened.
Our Bible, the written word of God, is only a shadow of all that God thinks but it is God breathed andalive(2 Timothy 3:16). But it can only be the 'dawn of the day' or a shadow of God's heart and mind. There is so much to God that we must try to understand that we know so little of God's heart.
But the word of God-what it says and means and implies-is the way God thinks at any moment-
It is common sense to Him. We discover new things nearly every time we apply our minds to the study of scripture but it is common to the way God thinks-He is there waiting when we reach a new revelation. When the little light comes on, His finger is on the switch.
Think about hate. God knows all about it. He hates the sin of His people and the pain it brings but He will forgive and restore(1 John 1:9; Psalm 23).
Our cleansing and restoration depends on humility.
Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
God knows the pain that hate causes us when we will not forgive. Yes, it is hate-the reason you will not forgive. They did it to you and you allowed your anger to run loose and you do not want to let it go. These feelings all have their root in hate.
God knows it all and He sees into the deepest part of your heart and knows when you humbly relinquish control and forgive someone. The repentant and humble heart that forgives and repents is forgiven and righteous in Christ Jesus.
It is simple-it is profound-it is God's common sense...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive me my stubborn will to hang on to hate and not want to forgive. I forgive, I repent. Thank you for Your freedom.
Restoring God.
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
