Between The Two

‎Monday, ‎January ‎31, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Psalm 86:5

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Memory of the Month: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Today's reading: EXODUS 25-26 MATTHEW 20:17-34

Between The Two

There was a small stack of greeting cards in my mother's old stuff from the depression that was an early attempt at printed satire and humor. One card had a drawing of an odd looking man with a bald head and on that bald head was a rent sign and under the drawing it read:

You've got a big head,

you've had it for years,

So why not rent that place between your ears...

There should be a lot that goes on between our ears but the most important in our lives is what goes on with us and God.

Exodus 25:22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.

Not between our ears-between the cherubim-is where it goes on in our hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The Lord told Moses that He would meet Him between the 2 cherabim. God -Almighty God-meets us in our hearts. All the righteousness that is His is ours to realize in Christ.

It is strange to think about having celestial beings on either side of us-such a high and holy place-but God wants us to know that is how holy He wants our consciousness of Him to be. And we don't have to worry-it is not our holiness-it is His.

Philippians 3:9-"...and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

Yes, it is ours in Christ but God brings it all to the table for us no matter what we need to unload on Him or what shape our lives are in.

God does it all in our hearts-what once was the Holy of Holies and the ark of the covenant-God has made this all reality in our hearts.

Awesome, awesome reality-please do not take this lightly.

It is the time and place where our head yields to our hearts where God has written with His Holy and righteous hand and where we meet God Almighty-a sweet and precious and Holy meeting...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven, Sovereign God,

Have mercy on me. Teach me how to meet You-how to hear You-rest in You-be with You.

Holy is our great and powerful God!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
