Work And Rest

‎Monday, ‎December ‎13, ‎2021

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Matthew 2:4-6

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ”

Memory of the Month: Psalm 33:4

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

Today's reading: HOSEA 12-14 REVELATION 4

Work And Rest

It has become a celebration on earth and it has been over 2000 years. Christ was born in Bethlehem and crucified in Jerusalem. He rose from the dead and promised to return. We have been expecting His return ever since. But the enemy does all to discourage and exhaust us and we have to know that God ultimately is greater than anything the world can throw at us.

People who are true believers want His return and pray, "Even so come Lord Jesus".

Revelation 22:20 ►King James Version

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

If we work as we should, we can grow weary-if we do not allow God His time in our hearts. We must remember to pray for 'ourselves' as we pray for everyone else.

We cannot stay weary-cannot give in to weariness. We are promised:

He restores my soul. Psalm 23:3

Times of refreshing. Acts 3:19

He shall strengthen your heart. Psalm 27:14

Give you the desires of Your heart. Psalm 37:4

God will do this and so much more if-if-if-

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

7Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;

Now there is a prayer request that many of us may have never prayed:

"Lord, I want to truly delight in You".

Delighting in the Lord should be a natural thing but the enemy will try to fog everything so we cannot see it. So, make it a matter of prayer.

If we rest in Him-when we are weary, we can really rest only in Him. Our renewal will come from no other but God alone. The world offers but cannot deliver but only temporary relief and that only through our 'human' senses.

We will grow weary but look to Him. He is the only way to renewal that fulfills. Wait and trust and He will make it happen. Delight in Him, dwell in Him.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven, oh God,

I want to really delight in You but, I confess, my mind keeps turning to earthly pleasures.

I wait on You. Fill me with Your patience and grace that while I may be weary, my eyes are only on You.

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,

who was and is and is to come!”

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
