Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Hebrews 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Memory verse: Psalm 90:14
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Today's reading: Psalm 66-67 Romans 7
Words Of Praise
Define God with words of Praise. That is what the scripture says.
Psalm 66:
1 "Everything on earth, shout with joy to God!
2 Praise his glorious name!
Honor him with songs of praise!"
We have talked about this before but the Spirit calls us back to see deeper.
When you hear someone say, "Praise God!", what does that mean? I want us to choose words to tell of His greatness-not just repeat a command to 'Praise God'.
I want us to think about the words we use-not just parrot what we have heard others say. God wants our words of Him to come from deep within us.
The first verse says that 'Everything on earth-shout for joy'. How does the earth 'bring praise' to God?
Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
How do the heavens declare the glory of God? The heavens are endless and cannot be measured and all of it was created by God.
Genesis 1:1 ►In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
All the beauty of the earth came from the heart and mind of our God. This same God lives in your heart-the same God who created all the glory in this earth will show you that glory in your heart.
So, what has God done in your life that is amazing and cannot be explained? Attempting to put into words what great things God has done for you is praise to Him.
Some have a hard time with this because one has to experience God not just look at the beauty of the things He has created around us. We must look within us and this means we must cultivate our own intimate knowledge of God.
We do this by seeking Him-by meeting Him in His secret place and experience God's revealing His heart to each of us.
Go to God. Let Him give you the words of praise for Him. He provides all we need to learn how to live with a heart of praise.
God is patiently waiting. Let Him give you the praises He wants He wants to hear.
We are not parrots. We are His children. Tell Him what He has done for you. The more you learn from God's heart, the more you realize the living waters that He makes flow from you, the more praise for Him you will discover.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Your name must become all to me. Your works in my life are amazing. Your bread for today is amazing. You walk with me every minute and reveal the power of Your life within me. Forgive me my impatience. Teach me to be still before You and learn.
Ever present and complete God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
