Within Our Reach

Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
Today's reading: PSALM 103-104 1 CORINTHIANS 2
Within Our Reach
The mind of Christ is ours-we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
Then why all the trouble? Sin. On one hand we who have been born of the Spirit of God have the mind of Christ. On the other hand we have the old sin nature of the world.(Romans 7:17)
It is all about daily choices-choices we make everyday, all day long. The part of us that wants our own way, always, will go against the part of us that wants to follow the Lord. We cannot wish this away. The conflict will always be there. But it does not have to cause us misery.
Victory will not cause misery. The fight for victory is hard, hard struggle, but not misery. Victory is in our Lord.
Proverbs 21:31-No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel can prevail against the LORD. 31A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory is of the LORD.
We can prepare and we must prepare. We are like the blade of a knife. If the knife is dull, the insides of the tomato can go everywhere. But if the edge is sharp, each slice is made with ease. We are in God's hand and it is our job to stay sharp.
Proverbs 27:17 ►As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
This scripture addresses relationships but it can also have us look at circumstances such as trials. We learn so much in hard times. Times of pain and grief can teach us so much if we are listening. We can also miss a lot if we are not. Being surrendered to God when things are easy is good but being surrendered in hard times is essential to gaining wisdom.
It is hard to grasp-wrap our heads around-the reality that the mind of Christ is ours to use but the more we choose to live with this reality, the greater it becomes.
Yes, we have the mind of Christ-no, it is not out of reach. It is not just within our reach-the mind of Christ is in our hearts and souls. WE have to learn to use it.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Lord, teach me how to live inside Your mind and depend on Your way of thinking.
God of mercy and victory!
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
