What If?

Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...
Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 1:4-5
4 I" give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge—"
Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )
"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"
Today's reading: Ezekiel 18-19 James 4
What If?
What if the worst happens?
Romans 8:35 " Who will separate us from the love of the Messiah, Christ Jesus? Trouble? Hardship? Persecution? Hunger? Poverty? Danger? War?
I received a rather frantic call from a man scared by the possibility of atomic war because of our missiles being fired by Ukraine into Russia. My mind went instantly back to the summer before I started school and the Cuban missile crisis. Then I went down the list in my mind of all the conflicts our troops have been in throughout my years. Our fears were never realized.
What if the worst does happen?
I prayed for my son not to die in the name of Jesus, years ago, but he died. The next morning, as was my habit, I started my day going to prayer. I got down on my knees...
Not once did I consider not praying. Why? Am I a man of great faith? No, I am a man greatly dependent on my Lord who was broken by what seemed to be the worst that could happen.
Why did I not turn my back and curse God? ...never an option. Did I get mad at God? Maybe a little, I really don't recall that. All I recall is great pain as I habitually went to my knees.
What if the worst does really happen? Is God our habit, or, do we get frantic or angry or curse or withdraw? Whatever, we must go to God.
I have heard folks swear by saying, "As God as my witness, I swear...".
I want us all to learn to say, "As God is my habit, I know...
37 ..., in all these things we are super conquerors, through the one who has loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming, 39 neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord."(Romans 8)
Job 32:8 "But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand."
God wants to be your habit so you will depend on Him in all things.. Luke 9:23
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven, Your name is my life. I long for kingdom knowledge for my neighbors. Give me today's bread for Your work ahead. Lead me away from sluggish thinking.
God with the breath of life,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
