Friday, ‎March ‎17, ‎2023

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Matthew 18: 14 So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Memory of the Month: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Today's reading: DEUTERONOMY 30-31 MARK 15:1-25

What Does God Want Me For?

This world is built on such paper-thin principles. Some say, "Everybody's got an angle"or "So, what's in it for me/them?"

"What can you do for the company"

"What are your greatest strengths"

The world measures by worth and ability.

God does not measure. Some of the things that have been added by the man measures us-but God does not measure us by worth and ability.

Why? God does not want you in His kingdom because of the job you can do. God simply wants you.

That is it. God sent Jesus to die for your sins so that you would have a place with Him forever-not because you are good at raising funds or dealing with people or because you are the best carpenter or painter or teacher. Jesus died for you and not your ability.

Your worth is not measured by God-ever-never. You either have Jesus or you do not. You are either forgiven or you are not. There is no grey area. God will not withhold His mercy and blessing on your soul if you do not deliver the goods.

God does not want people with riches. He wants people to cover with His riches-the riches of love and peace that cannot be measured.

God does not want the people for their physical, mental, or psychological prowess. He wants you to learn to love yourself outside of all that-in His grace.

The only thing God wants from us is our choice-our choice to choose Him-our choice to love Him-our choice to follow Him.

Why? God loves us completely and without reservation. There is no level to reach before God will accept us-God does not want us to deliver-He wants to deliver through us-we must be humble to the point of giving up all we do have.

The Bible tells us that Jesus told a young man, "You lack one thing-go and sell all-". What Jesus said was we must be willing to give up all dependence on anything on this earth to come to Him. We must be willing.

We must will to choose Him over all else.

God gave us our free will and He wants our hearts to will to give it back; then, we learn we must continue to yield our will up to Him everyday-every waking moment.

God loves us and wants us with Him-now and forever-when we choose to sin, He wants us to confess and continue in Him-give our will back and continue-as many times as we choose to sin-God wants us back in His will.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for trying to perform and gain your approval. Forgive me for choosing to sin. Lead me into Your will. I surrender mine.

God of love without measure,

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
