Weights Lifted

Trials end with blessings-if we seek God while being tried. What happens if we go through hard times on our own strength? Misery and heartbreak. Burdens are not lifted. Bad feelings continue layer upon layer.

But, in the light, where we can truly see and feel and know...in God’s light, we feel burdens lifted. This is true in all lives that know the conscious life in the Spirit of God. It is so hard to explain to someone who does not agree or believe.

The world looks on some of us whose physical world has not changed. We are not rich or wealthy-we are not superstars or stars of any kind-but our hearts are at peace and our joy is real-divinely real. We know that God will carry us through the next rough time.

In 2 Chronicles 20, the Israelites named the valley ‘Valley of Beracah’(Valley of Blessing). The place where by all worldly standards they should have been slaughtered but came away with more stuff than they could carry-all because they trusted God to deliver them.

But they came away with far more than just ‘stuff’. They came away with the knowledge of the experience of living through a horrible fear of being crushed-but trusting God’s word to them that he would shelter and deliver them-and He did just that.

This is ours to keep and know-as hard as it may be at times-this is ours to live. Our assurance that God will cover us and fill us with His strength in the face of the enemy’s hoards of pain.

God, He is the Lord our God.

Father in Heaven,

Fill me with praise for Your name. Fill me with awe of Your kingdom. Give me bread for today. Forgive me for not trusting you as I should. Lead me away from doubt.

Only God-Lord of all,
