We Are Willing

Wednesday, October 9, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day:  Deuteronomy 13:4

4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading: Isaiah 34-36 Colossians 2

We Are Willing

Jeremiah 32:41 (ESV)

41 "I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul."

Think on this verse. God rejoices in doing us good. When we are before God in humility in our secret place with Him, the blessings are amazing.

Psalm 16:11 ►"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

This is a great place to be. Now, when we realize that we must walk in this world today and remember that Jesus said for us to 'go into all nations', the mind of Christ reminds us that we are being transformed into His image. This means that we, from the pleasure we enjoy with Him, must turn these blessings outward and say with God,

"I rejoice in doing good to them with all my heart and soul".

There is much anxiety over the victims of catastrophe and how to help. This hurricane season will go down as one of the very worst and millions are hurting badly.

The message is that we rejoice in doing what we can. Some can go but a lot of us cannot. So, we give what we can-pray for the hurting and the on-scene helpers-and rejoice that we have enough to share from God's bounty.

Do what you can do-pray-rejoice-keep praying. If we do all we can do, God will finish it. Worry gets nothing done.

Having said all that, our hearts break together for the hurting. I know some of you would come alongside them and help carry their burdens. So, we can pray together,

"Father, if there is a way, we are willing."

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

God of most glorious name, Your kingdom come in me and let me do what I can with the bread You give today. Forgive me for worrying about what I cannot control. Lead me away from complacency and lead me to what I really can do as I rejoice.

Lord of all,

In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen
