War And Peace

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: James 1:12

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Memory of the Month: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Today's reading: JOSHUA 13-15 LUKE 1:57-80

War And Peace

At that point they were just trouble-makers to the establishment. Today they seem as mystical, cool-dinosaurs to the young.

They took to the streets with long hair and tie-dyed clothing to march against whatever they were against and much of the time, war. They carried signs with symbols and words. Many of their signs said, "Peace".

War and peace-opposites. It did not matter to the marchers that what they were feeling was the opposite of peace. It was unrest. The 60's...now, most of the protestors of the 60's are well over 70 and many are still searching for peace.

Peace has been discovered by some because they have discovered the real source. This passage was written about John, the baptizer, in Luke 1:

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;

for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,

77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, 78 because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven 79 to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Grave concern is what we should feel for the ones who have never found peace-who still march in their minds fueled by the unrest of the enemy.

Seek out the souls at war...that we should show them the true way to peace. But to see it in us, we must be humbled under the hand of our God of peace(Romans 15:33, Hebrews 13:20). We must walk in that peace(Colossians 3:15). Gentleness is evidence of peace. Philippians 4:5, "Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near."

For many, I know, it seems like such an impossibility or a dream but it is a choice. In Christ, all things are possible. The Angel Gabriel said to Mary, mother of Jesus,

"For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37

Mary replied to Gabriel,

“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”(Luke 1:38)

For those of us who belong to the Body of Christ, peace should be a way of life. But, it is still one of those things that will be given-it is not an automatic-the kingdom must be sought.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

For the lost world-all of it-real peace will never be known-unless-one heart at a time discovers the reality of Christ.

"But before people can trust in the Lord for help, they must believe in him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about him. And for them to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them." Romans 10:14, ICB

Someone must tell them...

May we repeat the words of Mary, mother of Jesus,

"I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for not allowing You to fill me with your peace.

Thank You for Your peace in my life-but-God I cannot get lazy. Burden my heart for the lost and flood my soul with love for those who know no peace. "I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”

Great God of peace and mercy!!

In Jesus' name,

Amen
