Walking By Faith

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   Philippians 3:14

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading: Psalm 51-53 Romans 2

Walking By faith

 2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)

7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.

What does that mean to you?

Think on this:

God does not remember your sin. The Bible says so.

Hebrews 8:12 ERV

"And I will forgive the wrongs they have done, and I will not remember their sins.”

We have talked about how the folks who are memory challenged are easy for medical folks who treat their pain. They cannot remember how they hurt in the past, so they do not fear what their pain will be in the future. Their anxiety level for fear of pain does not exist.

This should tell us something really, really important about being transformed into the image of Christ.

Romans 8:29 "For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers."

This tells us that the more we become like Jesus, the less apt we become to dwell on mistakes of the past. The less the past affects us, the more free we are walk as Jesus walked-free from sin and guilt and regret.

God is perfect and when He chooses to never remember our sin, He can do that. We, however, as long as we have memory, remember all of it. But, the more we realize the absolute growing strength of God in us, the less affect the past will have on us.

We walk by faith not by sight-and I believe this means we do not walk by memory either. We walk by faith not by memory. We live by the Spirit and we live in the freedom of Christ Jesus.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all names. Let me know the reality of Heaven in my heart, oh God, and give me what You know I need for this day. Teach me to leave the past alone. Forgive me for yielding to my weaknesses.

Merciful and gracious God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
