Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading: PSALM 37-39 ACTS 26

Trust And See

The last one fruit of the Fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22&23 is self-control. Self-control in Christ, the way I understand it, is our individual control it takes to submit to the control of the Holy Spirit in our moment to moment lives-to'take up our cross daily and follow Christ'.(Like 9:23)

I want us to look at ideas from the Psalms.

Psalm 37:3► Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.

Psalm 27:13 ►I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

In these two verses we see these commands from God's Living Word for us(I believe the more we live in God's Word, the more evidence we find of these commands written on our hearts-Jeremiah 31:33):

Trust in the Lord

Dwell in the Land

Cultivate faithfulness

See the goodness of the Lord

See the 'land of the living'

We can join two of these and say "See the land of the living and dwell in it". Dwell, from the Hebrew, means to settle down or establish. The word land from Psalm 37:3 translates the same as 'the land of the living' in 27:13. So, establish a way of life in the land of the living cultivating our faithfulness in the goodness of the Lord.

In that day, people understood and knew that from the land by the 'sweat of their brow' (Genesis 3:19) they could eat. If they did not work, they did not eat.(2 Thessalonians 3:10)

As we live in this world, we will only see the goodness of God through His eyes with His divine attitude. We must know or 'trust' the Lord for: the land; we must trust God for what it takes to dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Cultivating faihfulness means we dig and study and learn what it takes to practice persistence in seeking God.

The goodness of God never ceases and is present all around us constantly. It takes work to dwell on the Holy Spirit and learn His attitude-His kingdom attitude-the mind of Christ(1 Corinthians 2:16). To live like this is to see the goodness of God and this is possible, only in Him, when we are determinded to see God with every breath.

Trust and see. Put in the work-on your knees. Bless God. Hallow His name.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I am determined to hallow Your name and keep digging into faithfulness and see Your hand of goodness all around me and dwell in it and on it. Keep me from idle mind times and help me control my focus.

Everpresent Teacher and guide,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
