Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Today's reading: JUDGES 4-6 LUKE 4:31-44
Tree By The River
Paul writes in Collosians 1:25 I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God, 26 the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints.
All people, at one time or the other, think or dream about drawing strength from a great source of knowledge or wisdom.
That source is the word of God. It is the only source of divine wisdom. It is the only source of real peace-divine peace.
What defines people in this life is what they delight in.
Psalm 1:2–4 says that the person who delights in God's law and meditates on God’s word “is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.”
We either delight in God or we delight in the world.
Why would we not delight in the Living Word of God that can make our souls a beautiful tree by the river and prevents us from being dust in the wind.
What a mighty God we serve!
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
My delight is shallow. Forgive me for not seeking with my whole heart.
Mighty and tender God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
