Treasure To Take Home

Wednesday, February 19, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Verse of the Day: 1 John 4:11-12

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

Treasure to Take Home

A great account is given in 2 Chronicles 20 of a great army that was coming against King Jehoshaphat and Judah. They prayed and worshiped and God told them to go out against the enemy with no fear and trust Him. Jehoshaphat put worshipers in front of Israelites and the Lord made the enemy fight and destroy each other. Then the victorious Israelites gathered what the enemy left behind-treasure to take home.

This is a word directly to us, I believe. As we head into what we know is trouble from the enemy, we must pray and worship always. Tell God always how amazing He is and know that the battle is His. When we have not fallen to temptation and the Lord has given us personal victory, we have the blessings of knowing God is working all of the experience to our good-experience that is future strength in God’s grace-treasures that we can take to heart and use-treasure we can take home.

Oh yes, one more thing, Jehoshaphat and the Israelites got all the treasure home and went to the temple. This tells us that they never stopped worshiping-from start to finish God was on their minds and on their lips.

He will do it.

...because He loves us…

Father in Heaven,

Your name be praised above all. Send me knowledge of Your kingdom and convict me to obedience today with Your grace. Forgive me for lazy worship. Lead me away from the temptation to not believe in Your deliverance.

Great deliverer,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
