The Work Of Human Hands

Tuesday, ‎August ‎23, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Romans 8:32

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Today's reading: PSALM 113-115 1 CORINTHIANS 6

The Work Of Human Hands

Psalm 115

4 Their idols are silver and gold,

the work of human hands.

5 They have mouths, but do not speak;

eyes, but do not see.

6 They have ears, but do not hear;

noses, but do not smell.

7 They have hands, but do not feel;

feet, but do not walk;

and they do not make a sound in their throat.

8 Those who make them become like them;

so do all who trust in them.

They have it all-mouths, eyes, ears, noses, hands, feet- but none of these things function. Those who make them become like them-they don't work.

The way of man does not work. The work of man, without God, may be great, but it is not of faith.

James 1:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

That last verse might as well say the 'emotions' of man do not work the righteousness of God. Whatever is worked up through the emotions of man does not work in the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 7:10

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Psalm 15:1-2 ►King James Version

1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Acts 10:35-King James

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Not the work of Human hands but the work of the human heart in Christ-the heart that works righteousness-the heart that seeks God in Christ Jesus...

...this works.

...because He loves us...

Father,

Forgive me, oh God, for focusing on the things of this world. Let me not tire of doing good. Empower me to forge on- You, oh God, are our Strength and Life and Light. May we reach those for You who trust the work of human hands-for Your Kingdom's sake.

Mighty Father and great God!

In Christ Jesus, name above all names,

Amen
