Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day:  Psalm 33:12

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,    the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

Today’s Reading: Job 28-29 Acts 13:1-25

God Is Thrilled

God, being perfect in every way, feels perfect excitement, I believe. It is impossible for us to imagine, but try-when God was creating-how thrilled he was to see it all unfold. To see the water and the land separate(Genesis1:9,10) or when He breathed life into man and man’s chest moved and his heart beat in perfect rhythm-these were moments God was perfectly thrilled. “It was good”-perfectly good.

Jesus says for us to ‘consider the lilies of the field’. When God made the lilies and all the millions of other plants He could have been nothing but thrilled with the beauty in His creation and the fact that His creation would continue until the end of time.

Jesus says for us to consider how perfectly God has provided for the ‘lilies’-“how they grow”. The lilies grow from nutrients in mother earth and from sun above.

We take our nutrition from the earth and the sun.

But a seed dies(John 12:24) and brings new life. God created perpetual, physical life in living things.

But the human-the human has a soul created beautifully and perfectly to be adorned greater than anything seen by the naked eye. God is still thrilled with our souls. That is why sin is so seriously dark to Him and why God had to send His son to die to wash His perfect creation and bring it back to its, His, original glory.

The Holy Spirit is here to prune and polish us-not outwardly but inwardly.

This is one more reason Jesus says for us not to worry about our ‘outside’(Matt. 6:28–30 ) God has that part covered all the time(Romans 8:32). Jesus wants us to seek God’s kingdom inside-in our hearts-to allow Him to care and nurture His most precious creation-our souls that live forever.

Consider the lilies-learn how not to worry-God has us covered-but-we must choose everyday to be nourished-to stay clean-to seek God’s kingdom and love Him with all we are and to love ourselves and love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Consider your worry-how black it is. Tell God that you want it gone.

...because He loves us...He will do it...

Father in Heaven,

I pray we lift up Your name in all the earth. I seek Your kingdom-let me see more and more. Build my desire to obey You. Open my mind to Your provision for today. Forgive me my weak faith and lead me away from worry.

Most powerful creator and gentle friend,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
