Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  Titus 2:2

2 Tell the older men to be serious, sensible, self-controlled and sound in their trust, love and perseverance.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading: Proverbs 8-9 2 Corinthians 3

The Spirit Is Freedom to See

Our memory verse is a heart cry from someone who desires greatly to 'see' the 'face' of God. This can confuse some and we want to make sure that this can become a part of your reality without fear of more confusion.

Psalm 42:2 "My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

What we will see here on this earth in our secret times of intimacy with God is His glory and we read about this in 2 Corinthians 3:

16 “16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.17 "Now, “Adonai”(God) in this text means the Spirit. And where the Spirit of Adonai is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us, with faces unveiled(reflecting His glory), see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; and we are being changed into his very image, from one degree of glory to the next, by Adonai the Spirit."

One way we see the face of God is in His glory in us. Don't be unsettled by this, please. Paul says that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. The Spirit of the Lord gives us the freedom to see the glory of the Lord in all creation and Paul says that we can 'see'(deeply experience) the glory of God in us as we are being transformed into His image-the image of Christ(Romans 8:29).

This cannot be taken lightly or with pride. So how do we handle this?

Paul tells us in Philippians 2:5 "Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men."

We, who are being transformed into the image of Christ in our spirits, must always know that we are servants of our Living God and at the same time, rejoice that He counts us His children who can see His glory in the Holy Spirit living in us.

You may say, "I look in the mirror and can't see God's glory"-well then-close your eyes and humble yourself before His throne-you will 'see' His glory-little by little and the glory will become greater and greater in your 'sight'.-In the Spirit is freedom.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Give me vision to see You in Your glory in me. Thank You for this Heavenly freedom. Give me Your bread working through this day. Forgive me my short-sightedness and my watching the world. Lead me deeper into Your reality.

God of true Light,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
