The Power Of The Air

Thursday, ‎September ‎29, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 28:13

13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,

but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Today's reading: ISAIAH 7-8 EPHESIANS 2

The Power Of The Air

Who knows what will be recorded of the dark time in which we live? The divisions in our country and in the world fueled by hate are so great that those who write the books may think they need to leave this era out. But these scars will last until the Lord returns.

Why so dark? The prince of the power of the air.

Today's reading, Ephesians 2: 1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience...(4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—)

This 'prince' is the thief-

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;" John 10:10

The obvious problem with looking at our times is that it depresses so quickly. That is what the enemy, the prince of the power of the air, always wants-center-stage-and that is what he has. Those who walk in the power of the air, the sons of disobedience, do not realize it. They are spiritually blind.

Second Corinthians 4:4 “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

WE cannot fight hate with hate. We must do what Christ Jesus did and still does: we must lay down our lives in love. We cannot 'trust in our own righteousness and treat others with contempt', Luke 18:9. We must remember that, "What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight” (Luke 16:15).

Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. 2The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.…

The ones who walk in the abundant life,(The rest of John 10:10), must travel in God's grace while leaning into the winds of the power of the air-the harsh winds of hate and pain. God's power in and around us will carry us through. His grace does not keep us from being hit by all the enemy can throw at us but it will carry us through it all.

Romans 8:36 As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,…39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.…

Times have been hard down through history for all people of faith in Christ and all thought it was as dark as it could get, but...

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To the one who is victorious, I will grant the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear...

Romans 15:13 Our hope comes from God. May He fill you with joy and peace because of your trust in Him. May your hope grow stronger by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The power of the air will never overcome the power of our almighty God.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me as I get fearful and discouraged with the daily news. I will trust You-no matter what comes.

You are the only great and awesome God-the lover of my soul!

In the name of Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen
