Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   Hebrews 12:1

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading:  PSALM 49-50 ROMANS 1

The Perfect Writer

My grandaughter walked in as I was working on this and she said, "Pa, look what I can do" as she snapped her finger.(She is four.)

I told her how proud I am of her as she danced away to find some cherrios.

Do you think God is proud of us when we learn things? Absolutely.

Psalm 104:31 (ESV)

31  "May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works.."

When you pay attention-really turn all your 'self' toward God's heart and absorb what he has for you today, I believe God is pleased beyond our understanding. His joy is perfect and His joy in us(in Christ) is perfect.

Why does this matter? We are to love God with all we are(Matthew 22:37-39). In loving anyone here on this earth, we want to make them happy, right? We want to do things that make them proud of us. Although our understanding of love is imperfect here, God's desire for us is to use Him as our ultimate model. He will fill in our shortfalls of understanding with His perfect heart and with Christ's perfect mind and with the Holy Spirit's perfect counsel.

Yes, our sin disappoints God-we disappoint our perfect God. But our truthful confession and humility before Him, I believe, sees God rejoice over us.

Zephaniah 3:17 ►The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

God never has to wrestle over lyrics to a song as I do when I attempt to write one-His songs are perfect as He sings over us-perfect and immediate and full of joy.

He will never fail in seeing His good in those washed in the blood of His perfect Son. He knows we cannot continue in sin.(Romans 6:1-2)

Our life in Christ is to be changed into His image.(Romans 8:29) So, see the joy God has in you and enjoy it. This is another weapon God gives us against a 'cast down' or depressed spirit, and more, this is a door into moment by moment Joy in Christ.

Reach for the joy God has in you-learn it and live in it.

Don't miss it.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name means so much more than I know but I want to learn. Give me today's bread in dealing with the world and turning from sin as I work to be conscious of You always. Forgive my gazing into sin.

Gracious  and glorious Lord,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
