But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Memory of the Month: Proverbs 15:1-A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

The Only Thing That Matters
People try to be who they are not. They try to be what they are not. Why?
People seek recognition. They want to 'be somebody'. They think they will be more acceptable if they are someone else. Does this even make any sense? We are always acceptable in Christ. God knows all about us.
Paul says very simply, "Nothing matters but the new creation". Galatians 6:15
Paul says that the new creation- and you, we, are that new creation -living that life that Christ has saved you for-this is all that matters.
The 'old man' or sin living in us, Romans 7:17, stills wants recognition before the world. This is another line of thought that we must take captive, 2 Corinthians 10:5. It comes with taking up our cross every day and keeping Christ on the throne of our lives constantly. This takes much thought, much resolve, and much consistency.
Repetition. Each time the enemy throws a thought our way, we must return to the cross. Imagine an impenetrable shield that God has for us to use. Hear the strong doors slam shut in your heart and mind when the unholy is hurled at you by the enemy. That shield is the Holy Spirit. We must cherish righteousness-relish the presence of the Holy Spirit.
The only thing that matters is being who God has re-created us to be-His righteous child living for Him and loving Him with all our being and then using His love to love our world of neighbors.
To go back to everyday vernacular, "Don't sweat the small stuff". Anything that is not of the kingdom of God and presenting your body as a living sacrifice for Jesus-anything but this is small stuff-period.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
That my conscious mind would be trained on You every second-fill my heart with this one desire. Forgive me for giving into my earthly man that wants to be seen.
