The Healing of God's Love

Friday, ‎February ‎11, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

International Children’s Bible

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 5 Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not become angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it.

Memory of the Month: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Today's reading: LEVITICUS 11-12 MATTHEW 26:1-25

The Healing Of God's Love

One writer said this: "When we know and experience the security and sweetness of His care, gratitude and praise should flow from our hearts!"

Consider our verses of the day for today.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 1 Corinthians 13:4,5

Consider these verses always with this filter: God is love, 1 John 4:8. God gave His only son for us, John 3:16. God gave His son to die for us while we were lost, knew the conditions of our hearts, and did it anyway, Romans 5:8.

God , in His perfect love, is patient as He watches us always-even before we give our hearts and lives to him. Once we are in His family, Christ's body, God keeps no record of our wrongs or sin.

There is no pride in God's perfect love, so, whatever He does, He does it all for our very best outcome. His desire for us is that we are never proud of what love brings because He wants us to want the very best for our neighbors. God's love is never rude or mean toward us and our love, likewise, should always be the same. God never becomes bitter when we treat Him poorly or lie to Him and so must our love be.

The verses that follow, 1 Corinthians 13:6-8 says,

6 "it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends"(fails).

Love bears all things. Love conceals and covers or protects. The word in the Greek means to cover with silence. No loud argument or words, in the truest of loves, are spoken. A cover of silent patience is God's love.

Love believes all things. Love has faith and is the truest of faiths. All of God's perfect love is entrusted to us as ours should be to our neighbors. We are to unconditionally trust and should be in control of our emotions to the point where we are not angered at human disappointment. We trust that we and others will eventually come around and understand the truth.

Love hopes all things. Again, trust is in the translation along with being able to hope for or expect. We put ourselves out there-hoping and expecting love to be returned knowing, in truth on this earth, it may not be. We know that the love of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. God gave Christ Jesus knowing some would accept it and some would reject it. We must give our love in the same way.

Love endures all things. Mankind has dragged God through thousands of years of sin and depravity and He has never lost hope in us because love always hopes and endures. Parents of true love believe in their children and always hope the best for them. As neighbors of true love, we must never lose hope in those who we allow to anger us the most. We must never give up on those who betray our love from God's heart.

1 John 4:19 "We love because he first loved us."

Love never ends or fails...love never dies. It has come from God's heart. It is perfect and eternal. The love we have goes on forever because it came from God's heart and His love is forever. The love you have, shaped in the personality God has given you will not stop when your body dies because it came from God's heart first. Your love lives on because God's love is eternal.

We have endless love to give. If we have been disappointed by others over the years, God's love heals if we allow it. It is not part of this scripture, but this means that God's love heals all. Time does not heal all wounds-God's love heals all wounds of every kind.

From this, we can see that we have much to pray for. We all have much growing to do-God will love us through it all. The Holy Spirit will never give up on us, so we should not either.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I am resentful of some. I hold things against some. Forgive me and teach my heart and mind true love from Your heart.

Loving and patient Father!

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
