The Goodness

Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Memory of the month:  Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be  satisfied.

Today's reading: PSALM 26-28 ACTS 22

I Remain Confident

Psalm 27:13

I remain confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the LORD

in the land of the living.

14 Wait for the LORD;

be strong and take heart

and wait for the LORD.

Romans 8:37, 38 , 39- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The instability in the world is enough to make you shake at times. The stock market is really unstable. The European economy is mushy at best. Half the world wants us gone because we do not believe what they believe. Our own country has branded those of us who actually believe you have to be ‘born-again’ as conservative idiots. There is even a minor league baseball team whose name is the Saints who have taken the field as the ’Ain’ts’-financed by atheists.

It seemed I dropped everything I touched today. Had any of those days lately?

With such a gloomy world around us some child on a commercial walks into a print shop and orders cards for his lemonade stand and then announces his ‘T’ shirt slogan: “We have lemons and we make lemonade”.

We need to make some lemonade. We need to see a little light—no, a lot of light. We have the King of Creation who loves us. We have had the sentence for all of our sins-every wrong we have ever committed- commuted. We owe nothing, spiritually speaking, that we can pay. It has all been paid.

We have a future that none can refute, try as they will. The Lord of all will come and get each one of us. Our God, who Paul called the God of peace, is in our lives each moment of the clock-peace that blows all explanation out of the water.

But we still can find something wrong?

What is wrong with this picture? We need a mantra…something that comes to mind by practice…words of the scripture that continues to nail down flimsy-feet-of-faith to the rock of ages. So here it is. It we believe the scripture above as we say we do, we need to commit this to memory and to constant use.

I remain confident of this:

"I will see the goodness of the LORD

in the land of the living."

We have already been given the faith. We have already been given the truth. We have already been given the way. See it in your mind.

See it. Feel it. Live it. Sounds trite? Maybe…but believe it and live in Him.

It works because God makes it work.

…because He loves us…

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me when I let the worry of the world in and get my eyes off of You. Fill me with resolve. I choose to stand on You, my complete and unwavering Lord of all!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
