Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Matthew 2:6 “And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.”

Today’s reading: Hosea 12-14 Revelation 4

A Call From God

God calls out to the children of Israel In Hosea 10:

12 I said, “Break new ground.    Plant what is right.Then you will harvest good things    from your loyalty to me.It is time for you to turn back to me, the Lord.    Do it until I come and pour out my goodness on you.

Then Hosea, in chapter 14, says this:

“Israel, return to the Lord your God.    Your sins have caused your ruin.2 Come back to the Lord    and say these words to him:“Take away all our sin    and kindly receive us.” 

Do you know someone who is at a distance this holiday season? Someone who feels as if they just don’t really belong around family and friends in all the bustle in getting ready?

Maybe this is you. Maybe not.

But seasons like this will surely bring raw emotions into play.

Is it time you sat down and had a talk with God and tell Him your troubles. He already knows them all but He wants you to be honest with Him and admit what is wrong.

Return to the Lord in humility and pray as Hosea told Israel:

“Take away all my sin    and kindly receive me.”

God will kindly receive you with the promise of never remembering your sin again.

Hebrews 8:12 (NIV): "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." 

Have a season, maybe like you have not had in a long time, where the ‘peace on earth’ is real down deep in your soul-where the ‘joy to the world’ is joy in your heart and not just on a TV commercial-where your family and friends can see and feel your goodness and love because you are right with God.

...because He loves you, He will surely do it…

Father in Heaven,

Holy, Holy, Holy is my Lord God almighty. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my heart as it is in Heaven. Give me only what You know I need today. Forgive me for holding back my confessions. Lead me away from evil.
