Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Joshua 1:9

9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Verse of the day-Ephesians 1:7

7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,”

 Today’s reading: Ruth 1-4 Luke 8:1-25

The Day Of Uncertainty

The Lord Jesus was crucified and buried. All four gospels tell this story of truth.

From what we read in chapter 24 of Luke, we know that the eleven apostles were together early in the morning of resurrection Sunday which means they were probably together on Saturday before.

They had heard what Jesus had said about rising again but it did not make sense until they saw Him later. So what was Saturday like for them?

We can only dimly imagine. One thing we do know is that they were crushed. Their whole world was gone. The man whom they had left all to follow was gone.

God wants us to see that they were together. It was prophesied that they would scatter(Zechariah 13:7) and they did at Christ’s arrest but quickly found each other afterwards. Why? They knew real love only one place-in the family, the body, Jesus had begun to build. They had no other life, no other place to go.

They felt a vacuum in the great hole that had been torn in their existence.

None of them knew what to do.

The message for us is that we are going to have these days in our lives. Days of loss and grief and great uncertainty are a reality in our lives.

Psalm 30:5

“For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

Christ’s followers did not think that joy was coming in the morning. They did not think about joy at all. They only felt loss and pain.

When we are in the pain of grief and loss or disaster, how quickly do we think about joy? God wants us to know that joy it is coming if we turn to Him.

“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;”

We must know that our Almighty God will restore and heal us if we humble ourselves and give Him our pain.

“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up.

There is joy coming in the morning…

Tell God you do not want to miss it.

...because He loves you, He will do it...

 Father in Heaven,

Your name is healing and joy. The obedience in Your kingdom is what I ask for my heart. Fill my heart with forgiveness and kindness today. Forgive me for getting down and not looking to You for Your joy. Lead me away from wickedness.

Father of morning’s joy,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
