Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Memory of the Month: John 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Today's reading: 2 KINGS 13-14 JOHN 2

'A rolling stone gathers no moss' is first recorded in literature in the fourteen century in old English.
It was credited to Publilius Syrus, who in his 'Sententiae' states, People who are always moving, with no roots in one place or another, avoid responsibilities and cares. A common modern meaning is that a person must stay active to avoid stagnation. (Wikipedia)
No one has ever seen a stone or rock that rolls indefinitely. It defies the laws of physics. Gravity eventually brings the rock to the place where it will not roll anymore.
You cannot have your 'head in the clouds' and amount to anything. If your head is in the clouds, where is the rest of you?
We make sense, however, out of some very odd words. That is the way of the human mind.
In explaining the 'rolling stone', one writer said that if you want to keep moss from growing on a rock, you must continue to move it.
What? Why? Who cares-wasted time-and so have I wasted ours if I don't get to the point.
In John, chapter 3, Jesus said that we must be born again and immediately was questioned on how that could work. The question came from a man who really wanted to know. Jesus was saying that we must all leave all-all knowledge and trust in earthly things and place our lives in God's hands. All this was followed up by one of the most recognized Bibles verses of all time, John 3:16.
A rolling stone gathers no moss-okay-but no one has ever seen a stone that did not stop.
And so the heart of mankind. The human heart can go only so far. The human experience goes only as far as the oxygen...man lives in air only.
God breathed into man the breath of life and man contaminated that air(man's eternal soul) by accepting sin. Jesus died and defeated death and tells us we can 'de-contaminate' our souls with His blood-and breathe, again, the pure, clean, perfect air of His kingdom if only we become as a baby once again by faith in Christ.
Number 1.--Let go of all of it-all that we know-and in faith put all we really have into His hands-our self-our soul
Number 2.--Repeat everyday. Luke 9:23-Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
Psalm 144
144 Bless the Lord who is my immovable Rock.
Some try to keep moving and think that this will protect them from the pain of the world and life. But-the stationary soul cannot be escaped-it is always right there with you. Only one thing we must make sure of-that our 'stationary' soul is on the only immovable rock.
It does not matter what grows on the outside of the rock as long as the inside is God's.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
I confess the chaos of the world worries me. Teach me how to move in Your peace and grace and mercy.
Compassionate Lord of all!
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
