Real Time Prayer

Friday, January 24, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: Galatians 6:1

6 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Today's reading:  Exodus 9-11 Matthew 15:21-39

Real Time Prayer

We do not have to wait. We can talk to God anytime about anything-anywhere. I know that I am the one who talks a lot about the secret place where our God meets with us privately. This is the place where we can really come to know God's reality which let's us walk in the world with divine confidence-confident and strong not in self but in Him who is in us-who has seated us with Him at the right hand of the Father and who has indwelled us with His Spirit.

In Matthew 6:4, Jesus says to do our giving privately "...your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

In Matthew 6:6, Jesus says: "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

He goes on to say in verse 17: "But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

For us to pray about anything, anytime, anywhere, we must know our God who 'sees what is done in secret'-the God who knows our every thought. We learn to trust our 'unseen' God by 'seeing' Him and knowing Him privately so we can serve Him in quiet strength in public.

Matthew 6 ends with (33)"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.(34)so, don't worry about tomorrow..."

In the quiet, secret place with Him-in real time, we learn trust-the trust we carry always in His Spirit.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is our standard of honor and trust. Let Your kingdom come and place desire in my heart for obedience by your bread for today. Forgive me my stubbornness. Lead me away from reluctance to really pray.

Kind and great God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
