Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Luke 1:68-70

“Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people, And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David, As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began,

Memory of the Month: Psalm 33:4

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

Peace

Peace is a large topic in the scripture. We must grow to a place where peace is ultimately more than just a concept on paper.

Luke 2:14-(on the night Christ was born, the heavenly hosts spoke), "...peace on earth, good will toward men."

John 14:27 (Jesus said)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Paul calls God the God of peace in places starting in Romans and uses the phrase 'peace of God' and 'peace from God'.

Romans 15:33>Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Romans 16:20>The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Isaiah 9:6>For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

1 Corinthians 7:15...for God has called us to peace.

One of the fruits of the Spirit is peace in Galatians 5.

There may be an idea or word used more in scripture but one would be hard-pressed to find a spiritual fruit which comes under more attack than the peace that is ours in Christ.

Perfect calm-no fear, no worries, clarity, freedom in loving all people you see and in loving God-this is peace in God's heart.

God's peace is not seen in sin. Sin makes us near-sighted seeing only self. 2 Peter 1:5-9 But whoever does not have these(goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, Godliness, brotherly love) is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

Jesus promised us peace and and it is ours to realize but there can be no peace if we allow our sins past or present, to condemn us in our minds.

Our Past sin has been forgiven-forget it. Take thoughts of it captive and give it to the Lord. Present sin must be dealt with swiftly and honestly and then abandoned-locked up and discarded.

1 Thessalonians 5:17--Pray without ceasing.

Practice God-consciousness. The more we are conscious of God, the more aware of His peace we become. God's Holy Spirit is our constant companion. He never leaves us. He is always here ready to reveal His gifts to us but He will not force himself on us. He patiently waits-always ready to hear our humble approach to Him and when we do approach Him humbly, He fills us with His peace. But no peace is revealed to the arrogant and proud heart.

God wants us to listen and obey-quietly listen-the obedient heart is filled with His peace-not the world's kind of peace but divine, eternal peace for everyday living.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,Great God,

Train my mind, oh Lord, to be aware of You all the time. Forgive me for and remove any reason I may want to use for hiding anything from You. I want to love being in Your presence all the time!

Worthy, great, and glorious God of all peace!

In Christ Jesus' name,

Amen
