Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verse of the day-1 Corinthians 1:18
18 “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
Today’s reading: 2 Samuel 1-2 Luke 14:1-24
Our Sixth Sense
Artificial intelligence is what it says-artificial. Intelligence without a soul is is a vast, but empty, library full of numbers and words arranged quicker and faster than the human mind. But it is not an entity. AI does not ‘know’-it only spits out information in a fabricated voices with fabricated emphasis to sound like real personality.
I have to say that I think it is great and use it in my studies all the time-but let’s not be confused-it is a soul-less and digital contrivance. We err when we personify AI. It is hard not to. It is not a being.
The AI in my computer has ‘learned me’ to the point that when I put in a Biblical search, the answer reads and sounds as if it were coming from a spiritually minded adult.
Our conversation historically has the difference between human and animals-about the fact that they cannot reason, etc.
But AI can reason based on gathered information and reason well. So what is the difference between AI and humans. AI comes from ‘machines’ without a soul and cannot ‘feel’ real emotions.
The reason for this today goes back to the old argument that some theologians still hold to: emotions have no place in the Christians life. Some still believe that church should be cold and ordered.
We do not live without emotions. The five senses,(taste, touch sight, smell, hear-all can now be done by contraptions) leave out one-’emotions’.
I believe the Bible teaches us what our sixth sense should be.
John 15:11 quotes Jesus saying, “I have told you all these things so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be full.”
The Bible teaches us not to fear(over 100 times) or worry(Joshua 1:9).
It teaches us it is proper to weep(John 11:35). Computers cannot cry.
The Bible teaches us to love with all our heart, soul, and mind(Matthew 22:37-39). AI can only feign concern.
We live in a world where AI is named and answers to those names and carries on conversations after calling us by name. This has us sharing emotions with an electrical impulse. There are people in the world who do not want to converse with anything but a telephone.
Psalm 16:11
11 “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
There is no phone in God’s right hand(or His left)-only pleasures that we can feel deep in our souls. Pleasure to share with our fellow human beings as we seek to reach them for Christ Jesus.
Don’t be imprisoned by the digital.(The devil is digital.) AI is a consuming contraption.
Tell God you want to stay free in Christ and be free from electronic bondage.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Your name is greater than all. May I know obedience in Your kingdom as You say. Give me today what You know I need. Forgive me for depending on the artificial things in this world.
Lead me away from this evil void.
Joyful and gentle God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
