No Right

Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:11
11 For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Daily Reading: Leviticus 19-20 Matthew 27:51-66
No Right To Hate?
If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
We are servants of The Living God. Because of this, I believe we do not have rights but total freedom to serve our righteous God in the manner that pleases His righteous heart.
In most new translations 1 John 1:12 says, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the ‘right’ to become children of God…”
‘Right’ in the Greek is translated ‘privilege’, ‘freedom’, ' force'(power).
We are saved by God in Christ and in all His power have privilege and freedom to serve Him and our fellow man.
So, here is the statement for today:
“Hate is not our right”(1 John 2:9). We are not free to hate. We are free to love.
Hate is sin. Judgment is not our right(Matthew 7:13).
This sounds so basic and simple and it is-so-why is it so prevalent-why is it so justified by many in the ‘Christian’ world?
There is nothing wrong with calling sin a sin. As a matter of fact, the scripture says to do just that.
“Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” – James 5:20
But Jesus said, “You hypocrite! First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” – Matthew 7:5
The world of the enemy tells our egos that we have all kinds of ‘inalienable’ rights. The Bible says that we are servants with power and freedom over sin while we love.
If you feel you must have rights, then know that you have the rights to serve, love, and obey and to be called a child of the Living God.
Yes, I am saying we all need to get off our ‘high horses’ and stop our ‘privileged hating’, confess our sin, and live obediently in Christ.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your infinite name. You kingdom come and your will be done in my heart. Give me your bread and the resolve to obey. Forgive me my sins. Lead me away from hate.
Loving and mighty God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
