Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Psalm 90:2,4

Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.

Memory of the month: John 10:27-28

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Today's reading: 2 CHRONICLES 25-27 JOHN 16

Meditation

Many types of meditation have been done in this world by folks of different religions and sects and in many walks of life and done for different reasons.

Most are done from self-centered reasons than any other. People 'center' themselves so they can be peaceful on the inside and this is a good reason. People meditate so they can be focused on what they think is the most important thing in life.

As we think about meditation, we must remember:

Proverbs 14:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Romans 14:23 ►and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Mankind contrives things over the ages that look good and feel good and then it becomes a way of life. But if something is made up by man-that means it has been added by man-not God.

What should the reason be for meditation?

Psalm 104:34 says, "May my meditation be sweet to Him".

Joshua 1:8 ►Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Meditation should be sweet to God first-then we will be filled with His peace.

When we meditate on His word as we seek His kingdom, we will be prosperous and successful in His kingdom-in His kingdom-not ours. When we seek God with all we are, all that we will ever need will be added, Matthew 6:33-

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God's love is all about us-our love is to be all about God.

Psalm 23-He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake...

For His name sake-not ours.

Meditate on God-on His love and peace and mercy-find out what God's word says about meditation and then find out what a joy His meditation can be.

When we walk humbly before Him, His divine joy will be our reality.

Philippians 4: 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.…

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Teach me how to sit at Your feet and think about You and how to get my world and my wants off my mind so that my meditation may be sweet to You.

Sweet God of mercy and grace.

In the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
