Good morning, Lord

Live It-Speak It

With the danger in our country for our politicians and those who surround them in the upcoming elections and then in day to day operations and in light of recent awful events, many of you will see the great need to pray for them.

Today's reading in Psalm 17 has a prayer of David for himself and I suggest using it to pray for those in danger something like this:

8 Protect these leaders like the pupil of your eye,

hide them in the shadow of your wings

9 from the wicked, who are assailing them,

from my deadly enemies, who are all around them.

10 They close their hearts to compassion;

they speak arrogantly with their mouths;

11 they track them down, they surround them;

they watch for a chance to bring them to the ground.

12 They are like lions eager to tear the prey,

like young lions crouching in ambush.

13 Arise, Adonai, confront them! Bring them down!

With your sword deliver our leaders from the wicked,

14 with your hand, Adonai, from human beings,

from people whose portion in life is this world.

In a broader sense, our country is in trouble because our country , for the vast majority, are 'people whose portion in life is this world', Psalm 17:14.

Pray for the people of our country to be saved one at a time-for salvation for the masses. Pray for renewal of the believers to speak the joy and truth that is real in Christ. Ask God to infect the masses with an insatiable desire-a deep need for God's holiness and righteousness to the praise of His glory in Christ Jesus.

Peace in the world will never happen. Peace for the people in the world through Christ can if we live it before them and speak out His truth.

He is the only worthy one...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is to be lifted up above all others. I ask for You to cause this country's people to need the righteousness of Your kingdom and a need to love by Your command. I ask for Your bread for me to speak and live as You will. Lead me away from harsh judgement and hate. Forgive me for sinning in my anger.

Great God and leader of all Heaven's armies,

In the name of Christ Jesus my Lord,
