Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Ephesians 3:17-19
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Memory of the month: JOhn 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Today's reading: 2 CHRONICLES 25-27 JOHN 16
Language of Love
The disciples and Jesus were talking and Jesus said some things that the disciples were not understanding. They had so many questions in their minds they could not get them out fast enough. Jesus knew what they were thinking and started answering questions before they could ask them.
Think about that. They had it in their minds. Some were afraid to ask because they felt so ignorant. Some were just confused about what Jesus was saying.
‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me’?(John16)
It was a point of personal revelation to the disciples.
Jesus is really God. He is really who He says He is. The light was beginning to come on for the apostles.
Really? You guys have been with Jesus when he made the lame to walk and the blind to see and just now you get it. The blind man a while back was thrown out of the temple because he said that no one could do these miracles unless they were from God. One Levite came by night and said the same thing to Jesus.
But now Jesus was with His closed circle of disciples whom He loved very much. So He talked about what was on their minds-He read their minds. He knew what everyone was thinking all the time but these few were His own people-He wanted them to grasp more and more. He loved them deeply and wanted them to know just who it was who loved them so much.
Think about that-He knows what human, sinful minds think all the time yet He keeps on loving us and leading us inspite of all the small stuff floating around in there.
He knows it all and still loves us beyond comprehension.
Folks who learn a new language tell us they have to think in their native tongue and then change it in the new one to speak.
Jesus thinks the language of unconditional love. No matter how much we question or think or contemplate-He loves us above it all.
Jesus' mind is love. No matter what-Jesus loves you and me and He wants us to think in His language of love.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive my shallow understanding of just how much You love me and how forgiving You are. Help me understand.
All glory belongs to you!
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
