Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and

the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and

earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as

head over all.

It Is For You To Know

great·ness -

The quality of being great, distinguished, or eminent.

pow·er -

The ability to do something or act in a particular way, esp. as a faculty or quality.

glo·ry -

High renown or honor won by notable achievements.

maj·es·ty-

Impressive stateliness, dignity, or beauty

splen·dor-

Magnificent and splendid appearance; grandeur. Magnificent features or qualities.

ex·alt·ed

Placed at a high or powerful level; held in high regard. Noble; lofty.

Our verse of the day gives us in a nutshell, not all but a little, of God's character. Why not all? We have not the words to describe Him completely.

When Jesus asks the Father to glorify Himself, John 12:28, the answer came, Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

We must humble ourselves before the Lord and give Him the glory--that means to acknowledge His greatness above all else. But if we are obedient to Him, He glorifies Himself through us.

This seems so far out there...it seems so unlikely...but God loves us and wants us to share in His glory. Only in Christ can this be known by us.

The question is this: "Do we want to know this glory-do we want to follow and know all this?" It is for you to know...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Teach me how to lift up-to hallow-there is so much I do not know how to do. Forgive my weak faith and build it up.
