Holding fast

Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my hope. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: Romans 13:6

6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading: Jeremiah 37-39 Hebrews 3

Holding Fast

Hebrews 3:6 ►

But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

We are His house. What does that say to us-'we are His house'?

He dwells in us(1 Corinthians 6:19-20-'temple of the Holy Spirit').

We are the bride of Christ(2 Corinthians 11:2,Ephesians 5:27,Revelation 19:7).

"If, indeed, we hold firmly..."-to our confidence and our hope.

'Confidence' translates assurance. How do we hold firmly to our assurance that God will do all He says He will do for us? We must be diligent in our daily walk-in all our seeking God. If we seek Him first(Matthew 6:33), God promises us that 'all' these things will be added. This means that God will give us assurance in proportion to our seeking Him.

6"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."(Philippians 4)

Walking in the Holy Spirit will erase our anxiety.

Our hope-our divine hope-not hope that we generate-this hope is paper thin at best-but our expectation of receiving all God has for us will grow stronger with each step we take in the Spirit. The Spirit gives us divine hope-divine expectation.

So, holding firmly means just what it says. We work and work on our Spiritual grip-our divine grip.

Learn the Godly grip. His strength will not fail us.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is is my confidence and my hope of realizing Your kingdom. I ask for more of Your bread for greater understanding. Forgive me my wicked weaknesses. Lead me away from lazy excuses.

Father of all hope,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
