He Has Trusted Us

Tuesday, December 24, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: Luke 2:11-14

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,14 “Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Today's reading:   Zephaniah 1-3 Revelation 16

He Has Trusted Us

2 Corinthians 5:19 says "He has trusted us with this message of reconciliation."

What is the first thing you remember as a child? The very first time you were aware of anything?

As a human child, Christ Jesus was the same way. He had a moment when God 'turned His mind on'-made Him aware.

He was fully man-fully God. At 12 He amazed the teachers at the Temple(Luke 2:47). This means at some point as a child, Christ knew what He was here for. He came to reconcile-to make us righteous-to make us right in God's eyes-to reunite us with our Holy God.

He also came to prepare us to deliver this message of 'becoming righteous in God's eyes in Christ'.

2 Corinthians 5:19 says that He trusted us with this message which means you and I are still being trusted with this message in this very moment.

We are gifted by God's trust in us.

Am I trustworthy? The point is no matter how many times I fail at this duty, if I continue to return to Him and trust Him, He continues to give me what I need to do the job.

Return to Him and trust Him-He trusts you and me...

 ...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above my weak words. May Your Kingdom come in my heart so I will obey. Give me today's bread for obedience. Lead me away from rebellion.

Mighty and wonderful Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
