Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: John 14:1-3

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Memory verse: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

He, Alone

(Our 'memory verse' stays on this heading for three months. The experts say that a habit is made or broken in just over 60 days...so I leave it for one more month.)

Ephesians 2:14

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has torn down the dividing wall of hostility.

He Himself - Jesus is our peace-not just the Prince of peace, but Christ Himself is our peace. We have the mind of Christ to use, 1 Corinthians 2:16, Philippians 2:5-8.

Using the mind of Christ is a choice we make daily as we take up our crosses, Luke 9:23, but we need to look more closely at Philippians 2:5-8:

5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross

1) He did not think to use His equality with God to elevate Himself-

2) So-He saw Himself as a servant;

3) Human form-man-this had to be done and He chose to do it.

4) In humility, allowed Himself to be crucified. He could have chosen to stop it--but He did not.

This Jesus is our peace.

The two 'one'-Enemies-the Jews and Gentiles-in Christ are now one people of God in Christ.

From the greatest to the least; the rich and the poor; the servant and master-all are the same in Christ.

The veil of the temple torn in half-

Any negativity that has ever separated peoples from each other and any barrier thrown up by sin that separates man and God-all destroyed.

Nothing stands between any of us that is there by God's design. God has leveled the field and has made all transparent. Anything that stands between us and someone else is there by our own choice. Anything that keeps us from being in the presence of God is of our own action and choice.

He is our peace and if we do not have peace, we have allowed something to come between us and God.

Do you have peace? Right now? God wants nothing more for you than for your heart to be at peace in Him.

Tell Him what it is-tell Him you are wrong and relax-He will never remember it or bring it up again...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for my choices getting in the way of Your peace for my life. I want to bring You good pleasure. Teach me.

Great God of such tender mercy!
