God's Presence In Problems

Saturday, February 22, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Verse of the Day: 1 John 4:18

18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

God’s Presence in Problems

I think we should all hear this:

If we just see our problems instead of God’s presence with us in our problems, we will be filled with fear.”

2 Chronicles 20:12 (ESV)

O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

Many of us try to fix everything. That comes with mankind’s nature to try to control things.

Again, we never have any real control over anything but our own minds.

King Jehoshaphat said two major things:

> We are powerless and without wisdom

>Our eyes are on You(God).

But he started out by asking a question that sounded uncertain. He hoped he knew the answer. But God had it recorded so we identify with the weak uncertainty.

Aren’t You(God) going to judge these people?-in any case, our eyes are on You.”

God wants us to know that He knows we feel vulnerable because of our frailty. He wants us to come out with it all and confess our total dependency on Him. He wants us to hear ourselves admit our helplessness.

This is when God will work mightily in our lives-when we have let go and given it all to Him.

Yes, I know how hard it is to let go. But in the hard times, this is all we have-the power over our own minds to step out of the way and tell God to do His will.

Step back-let go-watch God work.

He will do it.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your are all-over all-all our hope. Let me feel Your kingdom power in my resolve to obey. Give me Your bread necessary for today and forgive me my stubborn will to fix things. Lead me away from self-reliance.

Mighty and awesome Commander,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
