God's Picture

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: 1 Chronicles 16:8

Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!

Memory of the Month: Psalm 33:4

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

Today's reading: EZEKIEL 33-34 1 PETER 5

God's Picture

Psalm23:3

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake

1 Peter 5:6&7

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

'In the big picture'-this is as we back off and see in perspective...

But the real picture-the real big, big picture-is God's picture. God does not see from beginning to end. He sees eternity.

He has planned it all for us here on this earth and knows it all. God knows that what happens to us here is just a flash compared to the rest of eternity.

God knows how and when He will restore your/our souls from whatever low spot we may be. It seems so hard for us to see sometimes. That is why the scripture is full of promises-promises that He always keeps.

Around these promises are words like, "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God; cast all your anxieties on Him; be sober-minded; be watchful; resist him(the enemy), firm in your faith"(1 Peter 5:6-9)

God's restoration always comes when He has our full attention.

2 Chronicles 7:14 ►if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Ezekiel 18: 21 “But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die. 22 None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them.

That word, humility-again. God wants to see our humble hearts before Him. Our egos are a heavy, forbidding fog. God is always willing to restore us. But, if we walk around in a fog...

So don't-don't walk around in a fog separated from the power God has for your life:

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

It is God's view that matters. He wants His view to be ours...

...because He loves us...

Our Father in Heaven,

I choose to take up my cross-to get me out of the way. I so need Your restoring power, oh, great Holy Spirit!

This is Your kingdom; the power is all Yours for all eternity!

In Christ I pray,

Amen
