76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;

    for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,

77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people

    in the forgiveness of their sins,

78 because of the tender mercy of our God,

    whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high

 Freedom From...

Christmas is the time we celebrate the gift of Christ Jesus and all He brings.

Today, and everyday, we celebrate freedom from the power of death because of the coming of Christ-the Birth and the Second Coming. We celebrate Christ's victory over death that is ours in Him.

Think about those you love most. I think of my wife and children and my wish, truly my deepest hope for them, is to live without fear.

Fear is a paralyzing, life steering rudder. If fear governs a life, it is miserable and disastrous.

    Galatians 5:1 ►"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

The yoke of slavery is the yoke of sin and sin is the sting of death(1 Corinthians 15:56) and hell holds plagues and destruction(Hosea 13:14)

 The birth of Christ, the life Of Christ-the death of Christ destroys all power of death and frees us of the slavery of lifelong fear of death.

Hebrews 2:14–15 (ESV)

14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

Free from fear of death-free from a life of slavery-filled with the peace and power of the Holy Spirit of God...

Happy, powerful, joy-filled, freedom ringing Christmas to us all!

Father in Heaven,

God whose name is all freedom! Master of Your Kingdom of freedom. Give me Your bread today to speak Your freedom in Christ. Forgive me my falling to fear. Lead me away from being afraid. In Christ, I have nothing to fear.

Great God of all complete calm,
